The 2nd running of a score-O format race in the suburbs around Belmont went well. Clouds persisted for the entire day with a few drops here and there, but that just kept the day from being too hot to run. Phil Bricker topped all finishers, but I think special kudos have to go out to the Sawady family. 9-yr-old Eyal not only biked up the hardest hills to get the 3 highest-point controls, but then still had the energy to complete her 4 1/2 hours with a sprint across the parking lot to the finish. 6-yr-old Aina enjoyed the biking part so much that she stayed out on her bike for over 5 hours and was still smiling at the finish. Unfortunately 2 separate runners were stung by bees (at 2 different controls).
