Canoe-O: Open to Canoes, Kayaks and other muscle powered craft.

Short, Medium and Long Courses

Crews may consist of one, two, three or more per boat, whatever you'd like.

Fastest boat on the Long Course is the New England Champion

Location: Buffemville Lake, Charlton, MA

230 Oxford Rd, Charlton, MA 01570

Embargoed until the competition

Directions: From I-90 Exit 10 (Worcester/Auburn) take I-395 south for 6 miles to exit 4B (Oxford). Bear right toward Oxford. In .5 miles cross route 12 continuing through the intersection very slightly left on Charlton Street. In 2.1 miles, go straight at a stop sign. After another .5 miles turn left into the boat launch.

Park in the first lot you come to. The lot closer to the ramp is reserved for boat trailers.

Format: Pin-punching, modified score-o. Each control flag is worth one point. Ties in points are broken by faster time. Short course is 3 or fewer, Medium is 9 or fewer, Long is all control flags.

The Short course can be done without leaving the boat. Medium and Long have both land and water controls. Land controls are indicated as Dry on the clue sheet, water controls are described as Wet.

Awards: Championship T-Shirts will be awarded to winners of each course and to boat crews completing the Long Course within two hours.

Registration: On site 10AM-noon. Pre-registration is not required but it is helpful to let the meet director know you're coming so enough maps are printed. The waterproof paper is expensive.

Starts: Any time 10AM-12:30

Cost: Free to NEOC members, $10/person otherwise

Loaner boats: There are no rentals on site. The director will loan his person boats to people who volunteer in advance as meet helpers.

SHOES ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. FLIP-FLOPS ARE NOT.
