NEOC: Hale Reservation and Youth Series #4

Navigation games & training activities in the afternoon for children & beginners
11:00 – 2:00 for regular courses; 12:45 - 3:00 for Youth Series (navigation games and training activities)

In addition to the regular NEOC orienteering courses, this is the 4th event in the 2017 Greater Boston Youth Orienteering Series
with activity 'training' stations and courses for youth (ages 3-5, 6-9, 10-12, 13+). The youth activity stations will be led by coaches and start with games aimed at teaching map reading skills and navigation through unfamiliar terrain. After the games, participants will have the option to try an orienteering course with family or friends. More experienced youth can complete the courses individually. A coach will also be available to assist beginning adult orienteers. To participate in all youth coaching activities, please arrive between 12:45 - 1:00 pm. Starts for youth series are 1 - 3pm. This youth outreach initiative is a joint project of NEOC, CSU, and Navigation Games.
Hale Reservation, 80 Carby Street, Westwood, MA. From Rt. 95/128, take Exit 16B onto Rt. 109W. After 1 mile, turn Right on Dover Rd. The entrance to Hale Reservation is to the Right after 1/3 mile. To reach the Cat Rock Parking Lot, pass the Main Office on the left and continue to the first paved parking area on the left.
