Motala has registration from 10:00 and a mass start at 11:00.

A motala* is an orienteering event in which you run (jog, walk) three different loops in varied order. Everyone starts together, and exchanges their maps at the same central point. Your individual loop-sequence is assigned at registration.

There will be 2 motala courses:

  • The Regular Motala has total length of 4.0km and is suitable for Orange and Brown participants: individuals or groups.
  • The Long Motala totals 5.3km and has more controls and climb.

Intermediate orienteers are especially encouraged to attend, and groups are similarly welcome. There will be understated edible prizes, and a sociable BYO picnic afterwards. This unique event is, of course, FREE to NEOC members.

*The format is named for the locale in Sweden where it was invented.
