CSU/NEOC Spring Park-O Series - Events #2-6
Thursday evenings, April 27-May 25, 2023

Have you SPOTted the trend this Spring?

The Spring Park-O Thursday Series (SPOTS), a co-production of NEOC and CSU has been well attended this season, averaging over 50 runners at the events. The series has a simple format with a ‘long’ sprint course of around 2-3km, and ‘short’ sprint course between 1-2km and a ‘kids’ course of 4-5 controls and less than 1km.

After the purple haze of the opening event at Boston Common on 4/20 we have had a rain-soaked trip to Nahanton Park, some rather long sprint courses at Horn Pond, A fast, furious and for some a muddy experience at Herter Park, and most recently two sunny events at Jamaica Pond and Menotomy Rocks Park. With 6 events out of the series of 8 now completed there is an established group of regular attendees on Thursday evenings, along with some excellent improvement from some relative newcomers to the sport, and a growing turnout of kids.

Results for each of the events are linked below, and we invite you to join us for the 2 remaining events in June. First at Historic Beaver Brook on the Belmont/Waltham town line on Thursday June 1, followed by the series finale at Pine Banks Park in Malden on June 8. Both locations are accessible via the MBTA with Historic Beaver Brook close to the Waverley Commuter rail station in Belmont and Pine Banks Park a short walk from Oak Grove station at the North end of the Orange subway line. Parking is also available.

See you there,
Ian
