NEOC's first Ski-Orienteering event of 2011 will be at the Weston Ski Area in Weston, MA, near the intersection of I-90 and I-95. Ski Orienteering combines the navigational challenge of orienteering with the rigors of cross country skiing.
A trail pass is required ($15), but there will be many ski trails open before and after the meet. The Weston Ski area also rents a full set of ski gear for $15 if you don't have skis.
A high school race will take place at Weston before the Ski-O. During the race, parts of the ski track will be off-limits. Details will be posted here about what areas will be accessible, but you should be able to ski before and after the Ski-O if you're interested. Please note that the Weston Ski Track closes at 6 PM on Sunday.
