The location of this event is the Lakes District of the Charles River, encompassing six miles of flatwater from Newton to Waltham. We will start from Charles River Canoe and Kayak, who have graciously allowed us to use their location.
The courses will have two degrees of difficulty, and a time limit of three hours. Courses close at 3 PM, so be sure to come early enough to finish! Single, tandem, and multiperson canoes and kayaks are allowed.
You can rent boats from Charles River Canoe and Kayak or bring your own.
Update: Due to logistical difficulties, NEOC will not reserve canoes or kayaks in advance. The start of the race is located immediately adjacent to Charles River Canoe and Kayak, who will be renting at the rates advertised on their website.
