The weather was cool but sunny. The latter was much appreciated after the rainy day before. We, the first-time meet directors, enjoyed a lot of positive feedback from the meet participants regarding the course layout that should be really given to the group of course setting and vetting volunteers. Dean Sturtevant designed and set three advanced courses: Brown, Green, and Red. Kathy Kelley and Jakob Haldorsen vetted these courses and set the control stands the night before under the pouring rain.
Special thanks to Peter Amram who vetted and constructively critiqued my setting of the white/yellow courses. Judy, Jeff, Samantha Saeger, and Ross Smith together with Dean and Pete Lane helped with setting e-punch controls and other equipment at the critical time right before the meet. The meet itself would not be possible without the help of Jim Crawford at the starts and Caroline Fleming and Joanne Sankus at the registration not to mention their work at securing permits and providing us with general guidance. We are thankful to Jeff Schapiro who magically appeared when we ran out of the registration forms and went home to print a fresh supply. I am also thankful for Peter Frykman's help advising me on course-setting and taking care of processing the results after this meet. Seems like the results are being posted in record time. In general, our meet directing experience was quite enjoyable and we hope we'll be given a chance to do it again in the future.
